New Order – Temptation (12″ Version)
by Weap on Jul.28, 2009, under Music
I’ve been rifling through some of my old records pulling tracks for Night Versions and I came across this New Order 12″ called 1981-1982. The track “Temptation” was first released on this EP. The first time I heard this song was when I bought the Trainspotting soundtrack in High School. That soundtrack introduced me to an entire world of music that I didn’t know existed before.
The version that appears on that soundtrack (which was also that found on the original 7″) is very studio slick, much different from the stripped down, organic number on the 12″. You can much better hear the punk influence on a band that, when forming as Joy Division, frequented shows of bands like The Buzzcocks and The Sex Pistols.
I’m also throwing up a couple of great tracks by David Bowie and Book Of Love that I came across.

This is a tech house demo I just did for Outfit Productions. It popped up on my ipod yesterday and it sounded a little better than I remember. Hope you like it.

Rare Finds…
by Weap on Jul.19, 2009, under Music
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted – been busy and blah blah blah. About a week ago I found a great Maxi Single of “Is It Love” by Gang Of Four with an extended dance mix on the flip. The plate was released byWarner Brothers Records in 1983. I picked this up from Reckless Records. Apologies for the static, I guess that’s what 26 years will do to a record..
