Plant Music’s The Glass will be bringing their forward thinking disco house sound to Chicago next week playing a live set at Stardust at Berlin. The Chicago Workgroup’s own Kid Color will be supporting along with Broken Disco 1980 of the Custom Vibes Crew. You can RSVP for this event, which goes down March 18th, on Facebook here.
Here are a couple of until now unblogged tracks from The Glass for those of you that are unfamiliar with the band.

Plant Music

Earlier this year I came across a 12″ called “Wanna Be Dancin” from an outfit called The Glass. The 12″ caught my eye due to the quality of the artists that contributed remixes (In Flagranti, Eli Escobar. and Nadastrom) and it certainly delivered the goods. Since then I’ve picked up a number of Plant Music’s 12″s and have yet to be disappointed by their output. The label recently sent me a copy of a track called Feelin’ by their new signing, Will Eastman. The full release, including remixes by Tittsworth, Nadastrom, Nakassis, & Dmerit is available at itunes. I’m also including a remix of Casxio’s “Seventeen” by The Glass. You can get the full release of this track at Beatport.
Keep an eye on Plant Music in 2010.

At long last – SOME NEW MUSIC!!
by Weap on May.08, 2009, under Music
First off I have to get some housekeeping out of the way. It has come to my attention that some of the MP3s that I posted on here may be tainted. The reason for this is that I bought some new needles and when I moved the Grado stylus that I use to rip my vinyl in I accidentally wired it incorrectly. When I was ripping the vinyl in and listening to it through my headphones they sounded fine and I thought all was well. But recently I have noticed that when I route some of my songs through a mixer they sound like crappy crap. SO, the last couple days have been spent re-ripping in songs that were a product of my unsmartness. The upside of this is that tomorrow I will replace the bad’ns with with good’ns so if you are so inclined you can go back and download again. Anything earlier than March 17th should be tiptop so if that Bjork/Modeselektor track is ok. Mea Culpa.
Now that that is out of the way, happily I’ve been gigging quite a bit which has left me little time to post, so apologies for the lack of music on here. That is the case again tonight since I have the privilege of sharing Debonair Social Club with Devlin and Darko (and Ryan Paradise and Goldar and Pascale) tonight so here’s the deal: I’ve gotten my hands on a lot of great stuff in the last week and want to share it with you guys but I don’t have the time to research a lot of editorial on these acts so I’m just going to put the songs on here for you to preview. If you like what you hear you can go out and troll the interweb and check out fun facts, tour dates, etc. plus buy everything these artists have ever put out (everyone is happy). Please email me if you come across something worth sharing. Ok, maybe one related tour date – if you are in Chicago, The Juan Maclean is going to be at Double Door June 16th – I’m happy about that and I’m sure you are too.
